Your Experience Matters
Therapy for Indigenous and Native American Clients
Your identity matters without explaining everything you are going through. We make room for your concerns, including the ordinary pressures that can make a day feel hard.

Identity and Belonging
You may feel connected to your community, uncertain about belonging, or both. Describe those feelings in your own words. We do not ask you to represent anyone else's experience or prove your connection to your identity.
Family and Community
Family expectations, language, faith and community ties can bring comfort and also difficult decisions. We can talk about caring for others while making room for your needs. You decide which relationships and values belong in the conversation.
Discrimination and the Past
Racism, discrimination and the stress of moving between cultures may affect how you feel at work, at home or in public. Historical and intergenerational trauma can also be part of your story. We listen calmly, without asking for details you do not want to share.
Everyday Concerns Count
Your concern does not have to be about culture. Depression, anxiety, grief, relationship strain and life changes are reasons to reach out too. We start with what is affecting you now.
We Ask Rather Than Assume
Our care is culturally sensitive and led by the client. Every counselor on our team can help with multicultural issues. We ask what your background means to you and check our understanding. You can correct us, set limits or change the subject.
Choosing a Clinician
Tara works with adults, including veterans, aging adults and seniors, and LGBTQIA+ clients. Tell the office what you want help with and ask about a free consultation. You can discuss your concerns and decide whether working with Tara feels right.
Online Therapy Across Texas
Meet by secure video while located in Texas, from a private place. Evening and weekend appointments are available. Ask about fit in a free 15-minute consultation.
Insurance and Payment
We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicare, TRICARE and Curative. Coverage varies by clinician, and the office checks benefits. Tara sees private-pay clients only and does not bill insurance. A sliding scale based on income is available.
