Real Therapy for Real People
Trauma and PTSD Therapy
Trauma counseling is our primary focus, and we go at the pace you set.
Is This You?
You might be thinking:
- "I don't trust anyone."
- "I am a shell of myself."
- "Certain sounds or places put me right back there."
- "I keep busy so I don't have to think about it."

You Have Waited Long Enough
Many people of color carry trauma for years before anyone asks about it. Sometimes care wasn't available. Sometimes it didn't feel safe to ask.
We started this practice so you could talk with someone who understands culture as well as trauma. You decide what to share, and when.
What We Help With
- Complex trauma from childhood or long-term stress
- PTSD
- Combat-related PTSD
- Traumatic brain injury
- Sexual assault and abuse
- Nightmares, flashbacks and feeling on guard
How We Work
Trauma-focused CBT
Understanding how the trauma shaped your thoughts, then gently changing the ones that hurt.
Cognitive processing therapy
Looking at the beliefs the trauma left behind, like "it was my fault", and questioning them.
Prolonged exposure
Slowly and safely facing memories and situations you have been avoiding, with support.

Insurance and Fees
For trauma and PTSD therapy, our in-network plans include Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicare, TRICARE and Curative. Coverage varies by plan and clinician. Self-pay sessions start at $50, depending on the clinician's licensure, and a sliding scale based on income is available.

- Yes. Demetria Flowers and Lyndsay Dawson, LPC Associates, work with trauma, including for veterans and first responders.
- What if I start to feel worse?
- Tell your counselor. You can slow down or change the plan at any time. In a crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
