Counseling for Muslim Clients
You deserve a counselor who will not ask you to explain your faith before you can talk about your pain. Here, your beliefs and your family are understood as part of your life.

Why Some Muslim Clients Wait to Reach Out
Many Muslim adults tell us they put off counseling for years. Some worried a therapist would see their faith as the problem. Others felt that talking about family matters outside the home would bring shame, or that struggling meant their iman was weak.
Feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed is not a failure of faith. It is a human experience, and asking for help is a responsible step for yourself and the people who rely on you.
What You Can Expect From Us
Your counselor will ask about your values rather than assume them. If you want your faith to guide the conversation, we make room for it. If you prefer to keep sessions focused elsewhere, that is your call. We never push religion of any kind.
- Understanding of modesty, family roles and community expectations
- Space to talk about the pressure of living between cultures
- Care for grief, trauma, anxiety and depression
- Support for marriage and family relationships
Privacy and Practical Details
Sessions happen by secure video, so you can join from a private room at home without anyone seeing you walk into an office. You must be located in Texas during each session. Evening and weekend times are available, which can help around work, family and prayer schedules.
Every counselor on our team can help with multicultural issues. Rithika Sekar is a Graduate Counselor Intern and is not accepting new clients. When you contact us, tell us what matters to you in a counselor and ask about current availability.
When Family Is Part of the Story
For many Muslim clients, family is woven into every decision: marriage, careers, caring for parents, raising children. Counseling does not ask you to pull away from your family. It helps you understand your own needs inside those relationships and speak about them with more calm and less guilt. If you want, sessions can also look at how to talk with relatives who see mental health differently than you do.
Faith is included in counseling only if you want it. Our counselors serve Muslim, Christian and non-religious clients with the same respect.
